Russian fishing vessel on fire, Japan sea UPDATE Photos

Apr 21 1400 Seoul time UPDATE: KALTAN was towed to Ulsan, and berthed. Firefighting and search for 4 missing fishermen continues. KALTAN was en route from Busan to Russia.

Russian fishing vessel KALTAN caught fire early in the morning Seoul time Apr 21, some 28 nm SE of Ulsan, Korea, Japan sea. Ulsan Coast Guard responded, sending CG and SAR ships to disabled, drifting vessel. Of 25 crew on board, 21 were rescued, 4 went missing. Firefighting and search for missing crew continue, notwithstanding deteriorating weather. KALTAN is to be towed to Ulsan, says Coast Guard.
