MAERSK container ship collided with BALEARIA ferry, Alboran sea

Container ship LAUST MAERSK collided with Balearic ferry NAPOLES at around 0200 UTC Mar 12 in Alboran sea some 53 nm SE of Malaga, Spain. LAUST MAERSK was en route from Panama to Italy via Tanger and Algeciras, NAPOLES was en route from Malaga to Melilla, Spain territory, Morocco. NAPOLES sustained damages in fore section portside above waterline, and continued voyage, arriving at Melilla almost on schedule. No information on LAUST MAERSK damages, the ship interrupted voyage and turned back. At 1200 UTC she was sailing east at reduced speed, probably waiting for preliminary investigation results. No injures reported both on container ship and ferry.
There was probably containers loss, looks like one container from LAUST MAERSK hooked on NAPOLES bridge structure.

If your contract with FleetMon has already expired, there's no need to worry. We are offering a free trial period of two months, allowing you to experience and explore all the fantastic features MarineTraffic has to offer before deciding on a suitable subscription plan. If you encounter any issues or have any questions, contact our support team directly. They will be more than happy to assist you with your new MarineTraffic account.
Photo Migration

We would also like to express our appreciation to the photo community for the incredible photos you have contributed over the past few years. Your contributions are invaluable, and we want to ensure that your efforts are preserved. Therefore, we kindly ask you not to transfer the photos manually. Rest assured, we are actively working on a technical solution that will automatically match and include your uploaded photos in your new MarineTraffic account.

We understand that this merger may bring some changes to the online services you are accustomed to.
