Aframax tanker aground, USA UPDATE still aground
1630 UTC Apr 22: Refloated, under way to Pascagoula.
According to US Coast Guard, tanker is loaded with 21 million gallons of Colombian crude oil. Lt. JG Justin Lee with the Coast Guard said, that the tanker is not grounded on the island but on the Number 12 Horn Island buoy, which sits between Horn and Petit Bois Islands. No leak sighted.
1530 UTC Apr 22: Still aground, surrounded by tugs and service ships. No information on damages or leak. Contracted salvor already in work.
Crude oil tanker AQUALOYALTY understood aground since 0200 UTC Apr 22 in position 30° 12' 08" N 88° 30' 54" W, off Pascagoula USA. Tanker arrived from Columbia, anchored according to AIS. Tanker was under way when running aground. Two tugs at her side.
