Capesize bulk carrier grounding, Australia

Bulk carrier MARIA G.O. laden with coal ran aground on East Banks south of Facing Island, Gladstone, Australia, at around 2300 UTC Nov 26, shortly after leaving Gladstone. The ship was refloated about an hour later with the help of some 8 tugs, and brought to anchor for inspection on Gladstone outer anchorage. MARIA G.O. is bound for China. According to track, the ship weny out of control, probably because of some mechanical failure, went off fairway and ran aground.
