East Europe Delegation: JAKOTA seeks research collaboration with the Batumi State Maritime Academy of Georgia


On Tuesday, 6th of November 2018, JAKOTA Cruise Systems welcomed an East European delegation: heads of institutes and professors from universities in Georgia and Ukraine. Since JAKOTA has been working successfully for many years with the Wismar Steinbeis Institute for research cooperation, our answer was clearly positive as the request for such a cooperation with these universities came from Prof. Norbert Grünwald.

Incidentally, Batumi is a twin town of the Hanseatic city of Rostock. Of course, we are more than delighted to enter into a research cooperation with the Batumi State Maritime Academy from Georgia. The frame conditions were stated in the Letter of Interest: Students - maritime logistics specialists and computer scientists - can complete an internship within their studies in our location. In addition, we will issue thesis topics for Bachelor’s and Master’s degree programs and of course provide the necessary data for the purpose of examination.

At the end of the year, we want to seal the technological „As a company, we are seriously interested in obtaining well-educated people who can identify with us. In addition, we want to make our contribution when it comes to research in the field of maritime traffic in order to advance maritime logistics", says Carsten Hilgenfeld, Head of Research and Development.

Not only JAKOTA Cruise Systems who has introduced itself as a potential research partner, but a representative of the M-V logistics initiative of the Ministry of Energy, Infrastructure and Digitization has also spoken about its activities as a future employer.
