USS Navy Landing Ship damaged by storm, interrupted mission

USS Navy Landing Ship Gunston Hall was damaged in rough weather off Iceland on Oct 22 and had to call Reykjavik for damages assessment, said 6th Fleet Command in a statement. Well deck and several landing craft boats were damaged, several sailors were slightly injured. The ship’s participation in NATO maneuvers as was planned now in doubt.
