Philippine Navy frigate grounding, Spratly Islands

Philippine Navy frigate BRP Gregorio del Pilar ran aground at night Aug 29 in South China sea, near Half Moon Shoal, eastern Spratly Archipelago. As of Aug 31, the ship is reportedly, still aground, probably refloating already under way. According to Navy officials, there’s no water ingress or fuel leak.
BRP Gregorio del Pilar (FF-15) frigate of the Philippine Navy, displacement 3250 tons, built 1967 USA, commissioned Philippine Navy 2011, crew 85, armament cannons, helicopter.
