Tanker breached, major oil spill in Rotterdam Video Update

Jun 24: According to latest official statements, some 200 tons of fuel oil leaked. There are a lot of complaints from locals on strong smell, people who are suffering from nausea, headache or dizziness, are advised to call doctor. Nearby beaches announced to be not safe, for the time being. Cleansing is under way.

Product tanker BOW JUBAIL collided with pier at LBC Oil Terminal, Botlek, Rotterdam, in the afternoon Jun 23, in the process of docking. Tanker suffered hull breach in cargo tanks area, some 900 tons of fuel oil said to leak into harbor. Anti-pollution operation was launched, preventing oil spread and cleansing polluted waters.
