Container ship MAERSK EDMONTON grounding, Tanjung Pelepas

Neopanamax container ship MAERSK EDMONTON reportedly ran aground while entering Tanjung Pelepas, Malaysia, at around 1200 UTC Jun 14. Two tugs immediately came to assist, MAERSK EDMONTON according to track live, went off bottom in less than 30 minutes, and resumed moving with tugs at her side. Strangely, the ship wasn’t berthed – she turned back when being already in harbor in front of terminal, and moved out, according to her track. At 1500 UTC MAERSK EDMONTON was brought to anchor at Tanjung Pelepas Anchorage, reason unknown. Probably authorities want a check.
