May 13, 2018 at 08:46 by Mikhail Voytenko in Accidents

One more Hapag-Lloyd’s very large container ship ran into trouble while maneuvering in harbor, this time it was FRANKFURT EXPRESS, which suffered engine failure while leaving Damietta, Egypt, on May 12, after completing cargo operations. The giant ship was disabled and blocked harbor’s traffic. She was towed from harbor by port tugs, fixed the problem and resumed her voyage, bound for Barcelona Spain.

On May 6 Hapag-Lloyd’s SANTOS EXPRESS nearly missed collision with pier and contacted 3 local ferries in Santos, Brazil: https://www.fleetmon.com/maritime-news/2018/22369/hapag-lloyds-mega-container-ship-collided-3-santos/
