​ Freighter mishap off Pembroke, UK

General cargo ship HENDRIK S interrupted her voyage to Amsterdam from Dublin while in St. George’s Channel and headed for Tenby, UK, to medevac chief engineer with broken fingers, in the afternoon Feb 15. Chief Engineer with assisting Chief Officer went into Tenby’s lifeboat, which took them to Tenby. The ship had to shelter off Barafundle, awaiting for senior officers return, because Master was too tired to provide safe navigation. Both Chief Engineer and Chief Officer were transferred back on ship after midnight Feb 16, HENDRIK S resumed her voyage.
