Canadian patrol ship returning to port after water ingress

Canadian fisheries patrol ship CYGNUS suffered water ingress in the morning Feb 8 in North Atlatic, some 260 nm east of St John’s, Newfoundland, while being on patrol mission. Water leaked through propeller shaft, it was decided to return to port. Water ingress was taken under control, water was pumped out and there’s no further leak, according to official statement. The ship is to arrive at St. John’s in the morning local time Feb 9, as of 0200 UTC Feb 9, she was some 120 nm due east of St. John’s, speed unknown.
