Tanker disabled in North Pacific

Product tanker PALLADIY encountered engine problem caused by dirty fuel, on Dec 20, but tried to continue voyage at a reduced speed, east of Simushir Island, Kuril Islands, Pacific. On Dec 24 tanker lost way and started to drift, reporting accident to MRCC Petropavlovsk. Nearby trawler and tanker were directed to come to disabled PALLADIY and if possible, tow her to shelter in Simushir island waters. Disabled tanker’s crew managed to restart engine, and took tanker to sheltered bay Zaliv Korfa on western coast of Simushir, in Okhotsk sea, passing Bussol Strait under own power. Tanker safely reached bay and was anchored at around 0430 UTC Dec 25.
Tanker is en route from Petropavlovsk to Vladivostok.
