Bulk carrier ran aground in maiden voyage, Columbia river, USA

Bulk carrier KM LONDON with cargo of wheat ran aground at 2010 LT Dec 14 on Columbia river near Crims Island, at 54.5. mile mark, while proceeding downstream from Vancouver WA., reported The Oregonian oregonlive.com. Two compartments in fore section suffered water ingress, which was taken under control by the crew, no leak spotted.
Bulk carrier was refloated in the morning Dec 15 with high tide, and taken to Longview, where she was berthed, awaiting repairs, which are to be carried out in Longview, as the damages said to be minor. Vessel, delivered to owner in November in Japan, is bound for Japan, this is her maiden voyage. Bulk carrier veered off fairway, cause unknown.
