Oct. 16, 2017 at 07:24 by Mikhail Voytenko in Accidents

Oct 16 evening Update: Tanker was refloated some 6 hours after grounding with the help of another vessel, she’s to undergo hull survey by divers. Tanker is loaded with petrol fuel, no leak reported so far.

First news:
Maldivian media outlet AVAS Online reported tanker GURAAB stranding on a reef in Lhaviyani Atoll, Maldives, while en route to Male, at around 0615 LT Oct 16. AVAS said tanker capsized, which is rather doubtful, most probably tanker ran on reef and developed list, maybe caused by low water. No leak reported, 12 crew understood to be safe.
