Sep 21: Vessel was refloated with high tide at around 1400 UTC Sep 21, and taken to Ellerholzhafen, Hamburg, where she was berthed. SHEKSNA is engaged in transportation of nuclear waste, which made her a target for ecologist protests and criticism. Navigational error mentioned as the cause of grounding. No information on damages.
First news morning Sep 21(for subscribers only):
General cargo vessel SHEKSNA ran aground at around 0450 UTC Sep 21 while leaving Cranz, Hamburg, on Elbe, minutes after unmooring. As of 0600 UTC vessel was still aground with patrol boat at her side.
