MRCC Moscow: General cargo ship VITA loaded with 2091 tons of logs ran aground, presumably on rocks, on river Svir near Voznesenye village, while en route from Petrozavodsk to Priozersk. The ship ran aground in poor visibility, which is thought to be the cause of an accident. All attempts to refloat failed so far, tug with lighter and crane contracted, the ship is to be lightered. Tug, lighter and crane arrived at grounding site early in the morning Sep 14, lightering should be under way already. Photo from mtelegraph.com
