Grimaldi’s ferry damaged in collision

Grimaldi’s ferry CRUISE SMERALDA went out of steering control shortly before 0600 LT July 29 in Livorno harbor, Italy, while proceeding to berth. The ship collided with pylon and suffered damages, because of extent of damages next scheduled trip to Sardinia was cancelled. Vessel arrived at Livorno from Olbia with some 900 passengers on board. On a photo CRUISE SMERALDA stuck in pylon. As of 0400 UTC July 30, ferry was still berthed at Livorno.
