Lebanese ro-ro ship seized with cannabis, 10 crew arrested, Turkey

Turkish Coast Guard spotted barrels thrown into water from vessel under way in vicinity of Tasucu Port, Silifike district of Mersin, Turkish Med, on July 18. Some 100 kilos of cannabis and other drugs were found in barrels, picked up by helicopter. The ship from which drugs were thrown into water, was identified as ro-ro MED STAR, en route from Tripoli Lebanon to Tasucu. On arrival 10 crew were arrested on a suspicion of drug trafficking. As of July 22, vessel was berthed at Tasucu.
