Master barred from command after allegedly, insulting Turkish president

General cargo vessel SALIX was ordered to proceed to Bozcaada island, Marmara sea, under command of a Chief Officer, and stay there, after Master of the vessel was reported to Turkish CG by Traffic Control Center to be drunk and insulting Turkish president Erdogan over VHF talks, during Dardanelles transit on June 8. Vessel is en route from Berdyansk Ukraine to Mersin Turkey, Master reportedly is of Turkish nationality. Vessel was transiting Dardanelles early in the morning June 8 according to fleetmon.com, last signal dated 0440 UTC June 8 north of Bozcaada, no signal since then. Understood vessel is to be anchored off Bozcaada for Master replacement.
