Bulk carrier ST. GREGORY ran aground on a rocky beach at Kokkala, Laconian Gulf, south-eastern Peloponnese, Greece, early at around 0230 UTC June 7, while en route from Ukraine to Tunisia, in load. According to AIS track, vessel didn’t change course after passing strait between southernmost Peloponnese and Kithira Island, heading straight for Kokkala. Reportedly, vessel suffered a breach on fire section, with ensuing water ingress. As of 1330 UTC June 7, vessel was in the same position.
