Tug collided with anchored tanker, Baltic sea UPDATE

UPDATE: Tug VT ELECTRON was pushing a brage loaded with coal, barge’s bow struck tanker portside in superstructure area, inflicting visible damages. Tanker was at anchor since Apr 27 in heavy traffic zone, so one may say she was asking for it.

Pusher tug VT ELECTRON collided with anchored tanker PURPLE GEM in position 55 35N 015 17E, Baltic sea, north of Bornholm island, in the morning May 6. Extent of damages unknown, as of 1400 UTC tug was still near tanker, with SAR boat at her side. PURPLE GEM is at anchor since Apr 27, reportedly after engine failure.
