Bulk carrier NM CHERRY BLOSSOM with cargo of some 50,000 tons of phosphate reported detained in Port Elizabeth by South African authorities, after Polisario Front claim that the shipment is illegal. Polisario Front is controlling Western Sahara, which is internationally recognized as an independent from Morocco State or territory. Some parts though, are under control of Morocco, there’s a tension between Polisario and Morocco, which ignites many disputes. Seems like bulk carrier fell a victim to one of such disputes, concerning phosphate shipping from Saharan Upwelling, Laayoune.
