Heavy lift freighter collided with oil rig UPDATE

Apr 11 UPDATE: ROTRA VENTE after suffering blackout wasn’t able to stop, even after dropping anchor, due to mainly, strong wind. Vessel contacted two Maersk oil rigs, docked at Esbjerg fore repairs, and literally, was stucked under one of the rig’s helipad construction. People working on both rigs were evacuated. Vessel was pulled free after she took on ballast, to reduce freeboard.
Apr 10: Heavy lift ROTRA VENTE suffered engine failure and allided with a rig, docked for repairs, in the evening Apr 10, while leaving Esbjerg, Denmark. Collision said to be caused by engine failure and by strong wind. Vessel detained for inspection, no news on damages, but understood both rig and freighter suffered damages. ROTRA VENTE is bound for UK.
