Ukrainian crew of abandoned by owner general cargo vessel PAN PROSPERITY left Venezuela on Mar 26 by Turkish Airlines flight Caracas – Istanbul – Odessa, a good end of their ordeal, which started in January. Tickets were paid by Panama Maritime Administration, as a State of Flag, all the problems and formalities in connection with repatriation were settled thanks to a married couple, expats residing in Venezuela, Mrs. Liliya and Mr. Nabil. Those two Good Samaritans delivered to vessel food and water when crew were just desperate, and later, organized repatriation. There was one main problem, understandable unwillingness of Venezuela Maritime Authority to permit all the crew to leave the vessel, because it means one more derelict vessel in their waters, but somehow, problem was settled.
Thanks a lot, Liliya and Nabil!
