Bulk carrier SOFIA attacked, fired upon, crew safe

Bulk carrier SOFIA was attacked in Gulf of Guinea at around 0800 UTC Mar in position 03 20N 004 29E (some 120 nm southwest of Brass, Bayelsa, Nigeria), while en route from Lagos Nigeria to Owendo Anchorage, Libreville, Gabon. IMB report:

Seven persons armed with guns in a skiff approached and fired upon the ship underway. Ship increased speed and commenced evasive maneuver. All non-essential crew retreated to the Citadel. After 40 minutes, the skiffs aborted the attack and moved away. All crews reported safe. Ship sustained some damages due to the firing. Master and crew undertook following actions: Alarm raised, increased speed, took evasive manoeuvres and the non-essential crew mustered in the Citadel.

As of evening Mar 9, vessel was anchored at Owendo Anchorage. According to track, vessel after attack was for some time drifting/proceeding at a reduced speed.
