TIDE CARRIER troubled, Norway

Barge carrier TIDE CARRIER ran into trouble on Feb 22 at Feistein Fyr, Norway, south of Bergen. Vessel was carrying out works while at anchor, when her anchor dragged, and engine broke down. Vessel drifted dangerously close to the shore, some 100 meters according to MRCC. Tugs on the scene are trying to prevent grounding in rough weather conditions. There are 20 crew on board, one with leg injury was medevaced by helicopter. According to latest updates, vessel is more or less stable and not drifting, being kept in position by anchor or both anchors, and a tug.
