Migrants rioted on ferry JANAS, Italy, devastating cabins and harassing passengers

Some fifty immigrants which were boarded on ferry JANAS for deportation from Italy, rioted and went on rampage during her voyage from Cagliari Sardinia to Naples in the evening Feb 20. They set fire and devastated a number of cabins, threatening passengers. Some reportedly were robbed, some suffered physical violence. People locked themselves in cabins, migrants trying to break in. Police was informed, on arrival to Naples migrants were arrested, ferry undergoing a thorough search for those who may hide inside vessel’s compartments. As of 1300 UTC Feb 21, ferry was still docked at Naples.
