MSC PYLOS arrested for violating regulations, Malaysia

Container ship MSC PYLOS was detained by Malaysian Maritime Enforcement Agency (MMEA) on Feb 4 for unauthorized anchorage in Malaysian waters. Vessel is anchored off Tanjung Piai, Pontian, near Malaysia – Singapore sea border. MMEA officers boarded vessel, Master failed to provide required papers, he also failed to notify authorities on arrival at Malaysian waters. As in all such cases, he or owner will be fined for violating regulations on anchoring in Malaysian waters. Such detentions occur quite regularly. As of 1400 LT Feb 5, vessel was in the same position, understood still under detention or arrest.
