SWIFTNES mooring deadly accident, Tomakomai

Port’s workboat assisting mooring of bulk carrier SWIFTNES at Tomakomai port, Hokkaido, capsized and sank after being dragged by a mooring rope, which entangled SWIFTNES propeller, in the morning Jan 30. One of two crew died, another one was rescued. As of 1300 UTC Jan 30, SWIFTNES is docked at Tomakomai, investigation launched.
