General cargo vessel AMP CRYSTAL suffered engine failure at around 1635 LT Jan 22 while ballasting in Tsugaru Strait in western direction, en route from Kashima to Niigata. Vessel was brought to anchor off Mutsu, Tsugaru Strait, understood with the help of tugs. Local fishermen requested soonest relocating of the vessel, because she’s anchored close to fixed fishing nets and traps. Vessel was taken on tow in the morning Jan 25 by Japan CG ship REBUN (IMO 9638161), to be towed to Hakodate, Hokkaido.
