Container ship RED CEDAR lost 15 containers overboard in the afternoon Jan 11 near Texel, Netherlands, North Sea, while en route from Hamburg to Antwerp. Vessel encountered rough weather. Containers are said to be loaded with non-hazardous goods. Dutch SAR tug GUARDIAN (IMO 9637363) was sent to spot lost containers. RED CEDAR changed her course, understood after containers went overboard, maybe with the purpose of securing other containers. Later vessel resumed sailing, but late at night Jan 11 she turned to coastline near IJmuiden, then headed in western direction at a reduced speed, last known position dated 0130 UTC Jan 12. Maybe vessel is experiencing trouble.
