Dutch freighter ordered to anchor in Sund suspecting intoxication

General cargo vessel MERWEBORG was found to veer off course while transiting Oresund Strait on a New Year’s night in western direction, en route from Skutskar Sweden to Casablanca Morocco. Traffic Control Center warned Captain about dangerous course, vessel returned to safe course, but Center operators found Captain’s voice somewhat strange, and suspected intoxication. Vessel was ordered to anchor off Skovshoved, just north of Copenhagen. MERWEBORG was brought to anchor as ordered at around 0000 UTC Jan 01. Police were to investigate possible intoxication. As of 0330 UTC Jan 01, vessel was still at anchor.
