MV JOYA 8 sank after missile attack, 7 crew died, Yemen - UPDATE

UPDATE Dec 23: according to Ansar Burney Trust International, vessel’s name is JOYA 8 (IMO 8844696), vessel was hit by rocket in Red Sea off Yemen coast. Confirmed 7 crew died or missing, 1 swam to the shore.

Dec 22: Pakistani news agency GEO.TV reported rocket attack on a cargo vessel MV JOYA in Yemeni waters at night Dec 21. Vessel was engulfed in flames after rocket or rockets hit her, and sank. Out of 8 Pakistani crew, only 1 managed to swim to shore, other 7 feared to die. Vessel was en route from Egypt to Dubai, no data found on MV JOYA, most probably it’s a cargo dhow, considering number of crew. It is not clear where the attack took place, in Red Sea or in Gulf of Aden.
