Bulk carrier FLAG METTE suffered propulsion failure in the evening Dec 20 in Celtic Sea, approaching English Canal while en route from Kamsar, Guinea to Stade, Germany. Salvage tug ABEILLE BOURBON was dispatched from Brest to assist disabled bulk carrier. FLAG METTE was taken on tow, towed to Douarnenez Bay, Finistere, France, and brought to anchor in the afternoon Dec 21. As of 1200 UTC Dec 22, she was in the same position.
