Tanker disabled off Calais, towed to safety, France

Product tanker CAPE BON was reported by MRCC Gris-Nez as disabled after blackout, caused by fire in electric panel, at around 1530 CET Dec 19, some 10 nm north of Calais, France, English Canal. Tanker loaded with 32,000 tons of inflammable product was en route from Le Havre to Wandelaar Belgium. Tanker had to anchor in a dense traffic area. French emergency team was transferred to tanker by helicopter, and found her unable to resume sailing, requesting a towage. Multraship was contracted, towage commenced at around 1500 CET Dec 20, destination Dunkirk. At around 0300 CET Dec 21, according to AIS track, vessel was brought to anchor at Calais anchorage, for survey and evaluation of risks, before towing to Dunkirk.
