STAR BULK’s capesize suspect in hit&run, may be intercepted

Capsize bulk carrier STAR ELEONORA reportedly collided with Taiwanese 53-ton fishing vessel in Philippine Sea on Nov 18. Fishing vessel suffered serious bow damage, but remained seaworthy, vessel is returning to Taiwan, escorted by another Taiwanese fishing vessel. 7 crew, including Taiwanese skipper and 6 Indonesians, is safe. Taiwanese authorities are tracking STAR ELEONORA, it is said that they’re going to intercept STAR ELEONORA in waters east of Taiwan. Bulk carrier changed port of destination from Yingkou, China, to Zhoushan, on Nov 19. There is no available AIS track for Nov 18. Taiwanese fishermen filed a request to compensate damages and losses. STAR ELEONORA is en route from Australia.
