Cargo vessel sank, 2 crew missing, Makassar Strait

Landing craft LCT SUMBER BAHAGIA JAYA sank in the afternoon Nov 2 near Pulau Birahbirahan island, East Kutai province, east Kalimantan, Indonesia. Vessel en route from Malinau to Samarinda with heavy equipment on board, was caught in rough weather, equipment shifted portside, vessel developed list and sank some 47 nm off Cape Tanjung Mangkalihat, northern Makassar Strait. 9 crew were picked up from water, all wearing life jackets, 2 crew went missing. Judging from photo, partially sunk vessel is resting on bottom.
