Oct. 22, 2016 at 03:36 by Mikhail Voytenko in Accidents

Cruise ship THOMSON SPIRIT with more than 1,000 passengers on board ran aground on river Arade while approaching Portimao port, Portugal, on Oct 18 at around 0800 LT. Vessel was refloated about an hour later with the help of the tug, and docked at 0920. There seem to be no errors on behalf of ship’s command, local media criticize authorities for slackness in dredging the river, fairway wasn’t dredged during last 10 years.
