Tug NATHAN E STEWART aground, partially sank

Tug NATHAN E STEWART pushing emptry barge DBL 55 ran aground at Edge Reef in Seaforth Channel, Bella Bella Island, Canada, B.C., early in the morning Oct 13, while en route from Alaska to Vancouver. Tug remained attached to the barge and partially sank due to, understood, breached in grounding hull. Diesel oil is leaking from the tug, the site is surrounded by booms, salvage under way.
