Four aframax tankers stranded off Fujairah, crews abandoned

Four aframax tankers operated by UAE-based VENOUS SHIPS MGMT & OPS LLC, Fujairah, reported stranded on Fujairah Road since June this year, their crews abandoned. Supplies ran out, power off most of the time because of lack of fuel, crews weren’t paid for months. Two tankers, M T BETA and CITY ELITE, are tracked by AIS, AL NOUF AIS is off since May this year, tanker LAOWADALE data unavailable. 14 Indians on board of those tankers were hired in May-June by Mumbai-based Abhay Shipping Pvt Ltd, which, as it came out in growing scandal, isn’t licensed for crewing.
