Passenger ship HARSHAVARDHANA with 480 passengers on board disabled, adrift

Passenger ship HARSHAVARDHANA with 480 passengers and 50 crew on board is stranded at sea off Visakhapatnam, India, Bay of Bengal, since afternoon Sep 27, after generator failure. Vessel is en route from Chennai to Port Blair, Andaman islands. Indian Navy INS KUTHAR is standing by, in case of emergency. Officials said, that there is no risk to passengers, crew or vessel, which has enough supplies on board to provide food and fresh water.
