EEMS STAR troubled, Shetland
General cargo vessel EEMS STAR left Scalloway, Shetland, in the morning Sep 11, bound for Blyth, UK. Soon after leaving port vessel suffered engine problem some 8 miles southwest of Scalloway. Crew were trying to fix the problem, rescue boat and tug were sent, it was decided to return to safe waters off Scalloway, taking into account adverse and deteriorating weather conditions. According to track, vessel managed to sail to anchorage off Scalloway under own power, escorted by MCA salvage tug Heracles and tug Dunter. EEMS STAR anchored at Scalloway anchorage at night Sep 11, crew is busy with repairs.
