Luxury cruise ship SEADREAM I fire, passengers and crew evacuated
Fire erupted in the engine room of a luxury cruise ship SEADREAM I in the afternoon Sep 01 between Amalfi and Palinuro, south of Naples, Tyrrhenian sea. There were 105 passengers and 61 crew on board, vessel was disabled and taken on tow by port tugs from Naples. Passengers were evacuated, no injures reported. According to some reports, crew were also evacuated, maybe not all crew, but only those who’re not important for ship’s salvage. SEADREAM I is said to be one of most luxurious cruise ships, or yachts, in the world. There is no latest available AIS position of the vessel, probably AIS stopped functioning after fire started. Vessel understood to be towed to Naples, and docked there.
