SUPER SHUTTLE RORO 3 towed to Cebu City

Ferry SUPER SHUTTLE RORO 3 with 73 people and several vehicles on board suffered engine failure at around 0430 LT Aug 2 in Visayan sea, east of Malapascua island, west of Tabango, Leyte, Philippines, while en route from Masbate to Cebu. Vessel cotacted Coast Guard and requested assistance. Ferry’s operator contracted a tug, which took ferry on tow during the day, and towed her to Cebu. Vessel was docked in Cebu City early in the morning Aug 3. Engine failure was caused by overheating.
