Disabled freighter missing, Gulf of Tonkin

In the morning July 28 owner of general cargo vessel THUAN PHAT 17 reported to Coastal Information System Vietnam, that their vessel was disabled and adrift in stormy weather in Gulf of Tonkin near 18-50N 105-42E in the afternoon July 27, later that night contact was lost. Vessel with 12 crew is ballasting from China to Hai Phong. Later Mong Cai station of Coastal Information System Vietnam was able to contact the vessel on 8155 kHz, vessel reported, that the problem was fixed, and vessel is under way. Nevertheless, as of evening July 29, there’s no AIS signal yet.
