General cargo vessel KUMAR, loaded with iron ore, ran aground or sank 1.5 nm off Revdanda, south of Mumbai, India. Date and details of an accident are unclear. Vessel said to anchor off Revdanda after sustaining mechanical problem, on July 13 or 14. Understood fore section started to leak when vessel was already anchored, vessel sank with fore rested on bottom. It may be assumed, that it wasn’t grounding accident, but sinking in shallow water. Indian Coast Guard came to assist after receiving distress signal from Captain, pumps and salvage team were transported on board of KUMAR on July 15. Situation said to be under control since July 15, vessel is to be towed to Mumbai. On a photo troubled KUMAR.
