NEW IMPERIAL STAR to be auctioned
Cruise ship NEW IMPERIAL STAR, detained in Hong Kong since October last year for numerous deficiencies, is to be auctioned by HK High Court ruling on July 12, to cover all debts of the owner, including crew wages debts. Presently, vessel is manned with 46 crew, minimum required for maintenance: 20 from Ukraine, 18 from Myanmar and eight from mainland China, . Even if bought for dismantling, the cost will be some $2 mil, enough to cover wage debts.
