AMONITH breakdown, English Canal

Chemical tanker AMONITH was disabled, reportedly after power failure, on the night July 12 in English Canal, off Boulogne-sur-Mer, while proceeding in northern direction with cargo of toluol on board. Vessel contacted CROSS Gris-Nez for assistance, salvage tug Abeille Languedoc (IMO 7710525) was sent to assist. AMONITH was towed to Dunkirk anchorage and brought to anchor, awaiting repair team to be provided by vessel’s manager. At 0200 UTC July 13 tanker was in the same position. Tanker is en route from Leixoes Portugal to Rotterdam.
