Four Chinese cargo vessels aground, Taizhou

Four Chinese cargo vessels, QIN FENG 1, QIN FENG 9, QIN FENG 208 and QIN FENG 219, ran aground south of Taizhou, in Luqiao district waters, late at night July 4. In the face of upcoming typhoon Nepartak, crews of QIN FENG 9 and QIN FENG219 were evacuated on July 6, crews of QIN FENG 1 and QIN FENG 208 were rescued later, on July 8, because of deteriorating weather. Vessels understood to remain aground, some or all suffered hull breaches with ensuing water ingress.
